Doctor's course on bioidentical hormones
Too much or too little estrogen or progesterone?
I have been practicing medicine in Dallas since 1968 and specialize in hormone replacement for women. My eight years of medical training were at Yale University School of Medicine and Yale-New Haven Medical Center. I am board certified in gynecology.
Recently there has been a lot of publicity about the dangers of traditional estrogen therapy administered orally. As a result many women who would benefit from hormone replacement therapy have quit taking estrogen or refuse to consider it at all. That is unfortunate because hormone replacement is an excellent way to reduce the symptoms of menopause.
My patients use
bioidentical forms of hormone replacement that significantly reduce the problems associated with orally administered estrogen. Estradiol
topical cream is applied directly to the skin and does not pass through the liver. Estradiol pellets, which are commonly used in England and Europe, are implanted just below the skin to provide a constant level of hormones. Both methods
stop hormonal fluctuation that produces migraines, mood swings, depression, hot flashes, sleep disruption and mental confusion.
The respected
Cooper Clinic in Dallas conducted two studies of my patients to determine bone density and arterial calcium buildup. The studies found that my patients have 11% better bone density and 26% less calcified arteriosclerotic plaques than patients referred by other doctors. Furthermore the difference increased by ages 65 to 70. This tells me that
bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is not only effective but also safer.
If you are suffering from hormone depletion I urge you to learn more about
bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Please feel free to contact me at 972-566-7870.
